Bertie Blackman.
She is absolutely amaaaazing, but no one knows who she is.

Think Karen O gone solo with Aussie accent and less dance beats.

Agreed.

I've only heard one or two of her songs and that was ages ago, but from what I heard, she was really, really good.

Don't know how many people know of Ladyhawke.
She's from New Zealand, and apparently plays all the instruments when she's in the studio...that's what wiki told me anyway.

I've only heard Back of the Van, Paris is Burning and My Delirium, but I like them.

Klaus Nomi.

He was before my time and most likely before the time of the members here, so I don't know how many people would know of him. I only became aware of him recently.

He was a countertenor whose songs combined rock, electro(?), pop and opera. Did quite a few covers of both pop songs and opera songs, but he recorded some original songs too. He was also noted for his live performances, costumes and persona.

I really like this performance of his Nomi Song, and I like his covers of You Don't Own Me and Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.
